Qatar is a destination country for men and women from South and Southeast Asia who migrate willingly, but are subsequently trafficked into involuntary servitude as domestic workers and laborers, and, to a lesser extent, commercial sexual exploitation; the most common offence was forcing workers to accept worse contract terms than those under which they were recruited; other conditions include bonded labor, withholding of pay, restrictions on movement, arbitrary detention, and physical, mental, and sexual abuse. According to the Trafficking in Persons Report by the US State Department, men and women who are lured into Qatar by promises of high wages are often forced into underpaid labor as its mentioned in Qatar map. The report states that Qatari laws against forced labour are rarely enforced and that labour laws often result in the detention of victims in deportation centres, pending the completion of legal proceedings. The report places Qatar at tier 3, as one of the countries that neither satisfies the minimum standards or demonstrates significant efforts to come into compliance.
Natives of the Arabian Peninsula, many Qataris are descended from a number of migratory tribes that came to Qatar in the 18th century to escape the harsh conditions of the neighboring areas of Nejd and Al-Hasa. Some are descended from Omani tribes. Qatar has over 900,000 people, the majority of whom (about 90%) live in Doha, the capital as you can see in Qatar map. Foreign workers with temporary residence status make up about four-fifths of the population. Most of them are South Asians, Egyptians, Palestinians, Jordanians, Iranians and Somalis. About 5,000 U.S. citizens resided there as of 2001. For centuries, the main sources of wealth were pearling, fishing, and trade. At one time, Qataris owned nearly one-third of the Persian Gulf fishing fleet. With the Great Depression and the introduction of Japan cultured-pearl industry, pearling in Qatar declined drastically. The Qataris are mainly Sunni Muslims.
Qatar achieved full independence on 3 September 1971 in an atmosphere of cooperation with the United Kingdom, the United States of America and friendship with neighbouring states. Most Arab states were also among the first countries to recognise Qatar, and the state promptly gained admittance to the United Nations and the Arab League. Qatar established diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union, and Communist China in 1988 as its shown in Qatar map. Qatar was also an early member of OPEC and a founding member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Qatar foreign policy and external relations are managed by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Qatar’s national income primarily derives from oil and natural gas exports. The country has oil reserves of 15 billion barrels (2.4 km³), while gas reserves in the giant North Field (South Pars for Iran) which straddles the border with Iran and are almost as large as the peninsula itself are estimated to be between 80 trillion cubic feet (2,300 km3) to 800 trillion cubic feet (23,000 km3) (1 trillion cubic feet is equivalent to about 80 million barrels (13,000,000 m3) of oil) as you can see in Qatar on map. Qatar is sometimes referred to as the Saudi Arabia of natural gas.
The primary means of transportation in Qatar is by road, due to the very cheap price of petroleum. The country as a result has an advanced road system undergoing vast upgrades in response to the country rapidly rising population, with several highways undergoing upgrades and new expressways within Doha under construction as its shown in Qatar on map. A large bus network connects Doha with other towns in the country, and is the primary means of public transportation in the city. Currently, no rail networks exist in the country. In November 2009, however, its government signed a $26 billion contract with the German company Deutsche Bahn to construct a railroad system over the next 20 years. The network will connect the country itself, and will include an international link with neighbouring states as part of a larger rail network being constructed across the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Qatari culture (music, art, dress, and cuisine) is extremely similar to that of other Arab countries of the Persian Gulf. Arab tribes from Saudi Arabia migrated to Qatar and other places in the gulf; therefore, the culture in the Persian Gulf region varies little from country to country. Qatar explicitly uses Sharia law as the basis of its government, and the vast majority of its citizens follow Hanbali Madhhab as its mentioned in Qatar on map. Hanbali (Arabic: حنبلى ) is one of the four schools (Madhhabs) of Fiqh or religious law within Sunni Islam (The other three are Hanafi, Maliki and Shafii). Sunni Muslims believe that all four schools have "correct guidance", and the differences between them lie not in the fundamentals of faith, but in finer judgments and jurisprudence, which are a result of the independent reasoning of the imams and the scholars who followed them. Because their individual methodologies of interpretation and extraction from the primary sources (rusul) were different, they came to different judgments on particular matters.Shi'as comprise around 2% of the Muslim population in Qatar.

The laws of Qatar tolerate alcohol to a certain extent. However, the few bars and nightclubs in Qatar operate only in expensive hotels and clubs, much like in the UAE. Also like in the UAE, Muslims are banned from drinking alcohol. Expatriate residents in Qatar are eligible to receive liquor permits permitting them to purchase alcohol for personal use through Qatar Distribution Company, the only importer and retailer for alcohol in Qatar. Under Qatar Sharia, alcohol is illegal to be shown/drunk in public as its mentioned in the Detailed map of Qatar. During the month of Ramadan, showing and eating food in public is strictly banned. This also is applied in the UAE. In common with other Persian Gulf Arab countries, sponsorship laws exist in Qatar. These laws have been widely described as akin to modern-day slavery.
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) as its shown in the Detailed map of Qatar, is the premier non-profit health care provider in Doha, Qatar. Established by the Emiri decree in 1979, HMC manages four highly specialised hospitals: Hamad General Hospital, Rumailah Hospital, Women Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital and the Primary Health Care Centres. These hospitals are quite sophisticated by the standards of the region, with most hosting advanced fMRI and other scanning machines. Most of them have many patients affected by Down syndrome and other mental illness caused by the high rate of cousin marriage in the country. According to Dr. Ahmed Teebi, sociopathy may possibly be one such illness, but this is disputed.

Its mosque especially the minaret still stands tall and proud today. Built in 1955, the Al Ruwais Old Police Station was restored by Qatar Museums and now serves as a permanent exhibition space (Heritage Area 22899) with an onsite café. Beaches in the southern Qatar are some of the most popular given their proximity to Doha. Families flock to Al Wakrah Family Beach or the beach at Souq Al Wakrah while other residents head to Al Wakrah Public Beach or Sealine Beach as you can see in the Map of Southern Qatar. There is even a dog beach where dogs can play with other dogs and frolic in the shallow waters. These beaches can be accessed by a sedan. There are also a lot of diving sites in the south like the Othman Reef, Zeytuna Reef, the man-made New Club Reef, and GMC Reef, according to Payel Chistyakov. Unlike the more popular Souq Waqif, the Al Wakrah Souq is quieter and has lesser shops. But what it lacks for its busyness, it makes up for its views. It is located waterfront and the restaurants are all lined up near the beach so you can hear the calming sound of the waters and enjoy the sunset while eating your meals al fresco.
Also known as Khor Al Adaid, the Inland Sea is located at the southeastern tip of Qatar near the border of Saudi Arabia. The extraordinary landscape is not easy to get to, as you need a 4x4 and a guide (especially if it is your first time) while braving the bumpy desert ride to get to this unique spot. The approximately 2-hour ride from Sealine is worth the wait as soon as you lay your eyes on the breathtaking views of Inland Sea. In the southeast there is a jagged inlet of the Persian Gulf that is known as Khōr al-'Udeid (the Inland Sea) as its shown in the Map of Southern Qatar. Along the southwest coast lies the Dawhat Salwah, an inlet of the Gulf of Bahrain.
Even though it is called Singing Sand Dunes, do not expect the dunes to belt out tunes when you get there. The magical sound produced is more like whistling or humming but sometimes also roaring depending on factors such as location, how strong the wind is, and the sand grain size. Try walking, sliding, or running down the sand dunes and see what kind of sounds you will create! The spot is also a good location for taking photos during sunrise and sunset. There are no facilities so if you are going to bring a picnic or BBQ, make sure to bring it back with you. It is also better to use a 4x4 going to the sand dunes. Opened on May 16, 2019, Al Janoub Stadium as its mentioned in the Map of Southern Qatar, is also one of the stadiums set to host the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar matches and the second stadium to become tournament-ready. The stadium design is inspired by the traditional dhow boats used in the past for pearling and fishing in Qatar and was designed by Zaha Hadid firm.
